Model Forest Mailings Project

The Model Forest Mailings Project was implemented in 1998-99 to facilitate a broader distribution of documents and other relevant materials to specific target audiences, ultimately raising the level of awareness of the Lake Abitibi Model Forest and its activities. Items distributed included the LAMF newsletter, A Forest for the Future, the LAMF Compendium of Phase I Projects, the LAMF overview brochure, and the LAMF Information Kit. The over-all objectives of the mailings project were to promote the LAMF, and to provide information to individuals and organizations that would have both interest and input in the current activities, funding, and the continuation of the Model Forest Program. The audience for the mail out included Members of Parliament, forestry professionals, resource managers, and tourist information centres.

Positive feedback was received from Members of Parliament and others, who had received the LAMF information package. The general reaction to the package was that it was informative and helpful. Many in the original audience requested that they continue to be sent new information as it becomes available. The mailings project allowed the circulation of materials to an important audience, and increased awareness of the Lake Abitibi Model Forest and its projects. Partners for this project included Lake Abitibi Model Forest members.
