Television CommercialsProject Description With the success of "The Forest Around Us" television series, the Public Awareness and Knowledge Transfer technical sub-committee believed that a series of commercial spots would continue to be beneficial. By producing the commercial spots, the LAMF’s visual identity and name continued to be promoted among public audiences. The commercial spots introduced audiences to the idea of what a "model forest" was and featured highlights from some of the LAMF’s most innovative projects, including the Caribou research study and Careful Logging techniques. A number of special events, including the NEST Workshop were advertised through the commercials spots purchased by this project. Although this project met its goal of promoting and increasing the profile of the Model Forest, it was decided that these commercials would not continue in 1999-2000 at the same intensity as in 1998-99. It was believed that the project had accomplished its mandate but that the LAMF would aim at a different audience over the next few years. The Model Forest received a number of "free" commercial spots through this project, as a result of Mid-Canada Television categorizing LAMF commercials as "filler". By doing this the Model Forest commercial spots ran whenever there was unallocated commercial space on regional stations. The value of these "free" commercial spots is indicated as in-kind contribution. Project Partners Project Dates --- Start April 1998 End March 1999 ContactWendy Plante
